Problem
As an administrator in Lotus® Domino®, you delete a user by clicking "delete person" on the people and groups tab in the administrator client. You also delete the mail database. A few months later, you need to add this person again with the same internet e-mail address, same first name and same last name. You receive the following error message when trying to register the user:
"The internet address for this user is not unique"
You checked the $Users view in the Domino Directory (names.nsf) for the internet e-mail address you were trying to register and didn't find any entry containing that internet e-mail address.
Resolving the problem
A workaround for this issue is to register the user with the same first name, middle name and last name. Make the internet e-mail address something different and register the user. Go to the user's Person Document and change the internet address field to the e-mail address you want.
