Problem
You want to roll out Lotus Notes® to your users with the security setting, "Don't prompt for a password from other Notes-based programs (reduces security)" enabled. Where is this setting stored and is it possible to enable it via a security policy?
Solution
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# KTOT6B2RU4. Currently, there is no way to automatically enable this field or any field on the Security Basics tab in the User Security Preferences either via a policy or a notes.ini parameter. The Settings Document for a security policy also does not offer modification of these fields.
The security setting itself is stored in the Notes ID file. It can be verified by enabling the setting and then using the same ID file to open a different Notes client. When viewing the User Security Settings, the setting, "Don't prompt for a password from other Notes-based programs (reduces security)," remains enabled.
